Mahala’s Match Report 

Nomads v Old Modernians – Sunday 25 November

Blue and White Sox 1^st game vs. old Modernians B

Squad- 

Tom B (1), Ryan (2), Chris (3), Tom W (4), Harry S (7), Jake (8), Nat (9), Charlie (5), Jordan (10)

Starting with a near miss from Nat and then a shot just over the line for a goal in first few minutes, the game started well and was followed by a run straight down the middle resulting in another goal from Nat. Many close misses from Jake speeding down the left kept the ball round their goal and Jake finally manages to get it in the net, shooting from the corner of the box after a pass from Harry S, who scored the next goal. By half time it was 4-0 to Killinghall. Nat got her hat-trick as the ball slipped through the goalie’s hands before several more goals from Ryan, Jake, Charlie, Chris and Jordan.

 Final score: 11-0,  Man of the match: Nat

Blue Sox 2^nd game vs. Old Modernians B

Squad- 

Dylan (1), Harry T (2), Euan (3), Sam (4), Mitch (7), Alex (8), Salko (9), Declan (5), Will (10).

The game started with both Salko and Mitch scoring a goal each and Dylan getting bored with the lack of action up his end. Alex got a goal, along with a second from Mitch and a lot of lively tackling near the goal causing him to very nearly get another. The ball did eventually get closer to Dylan and was quickly stopped by Euan. Old Modernians got more determined and ended the first half with a shot that very nearly scored them their first goal. In the second half Mitch got his hat-trick and Harry T came out of defence and made the score 6-0. A goal from Will was then followed by one each from Alex and Sam.

 Final score: 9-0, Man of the match: Salko

Summary

 A very valuable 12 points and, even though Old Mods didn’t have a full team, our win was well deserved.

Memorable moments: 2 hat tricks for Nat, Salko scoring on his first game as striker, Harry T scoring his first goal, Tom B coming out of goal to play at right back.
